Mama Says What?

Today at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., NFI released Mama Says: A National Survey of Mothers' Attitudes on Fathering. Go to www.fatherhood.org/mamasays to find out what moms really think about dads...

  1. Roland Warren brings up an excellent point about fatherhood and culture. Until the early 90s TV dads were usually portrayed as being both strong and smart. Their primary role on the shows they starred in each week was to help guide their children through the stormy waters of adolescence. That kind of role model really doesn't exist on TV anymore. The James Evans character (of the 70s hit show "Good Times") has been replaced by Homer Simpson, a dithering idiot.
