Your tribute to Meco is beautiful. Please extend my sympathies to Claudia -- I know how much she loved her dad! I will be praying for her, you, and the rest of the family as you grieve this tremendous loss.

My Father-In-Law passed (of cancer) just before we found out Susan was pregnant with Jordan...so none of our children got to meet their Granddaddy. In many ways Meco sounds a lot like Robbie -- very loving, always doing things for others, and madly in love with his children and grandchildren. In the 4 short years I knew my Father-In-Law, he made a profound impact on my life. It saddens me to think that our kids won't ever get to hear his laugh, receive his hugs, be encouraged by him, and just spend time laughing with him and soaking in his wisdom. But, as you have pledged to do with little Vinnie, we are making every effort to share Robbie's legacy with our kids so they feel like they know him.

God Bless you and your family my brother!Tom Patrashttp://tom-patras.tsfl.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-479371371212305020.post-26649193702462948582011-06-01T15:51:43.356-04:002011-06-01T15:51:43.356-04:00This is a beautiful memorial. I entreat all the fathers and grandfathers out there: Please do everything you can to ensure that you are missed after you are gone, and not while you are still here. Time is too precious to waste.Janet Bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-479371371212305020.post-72957451089658416702011-05-31T15:29:36.188-04:002011-05-31T15:29:36.188-04:00Thank you for this beautiful story of this very lo...Thank you for this beautiful story of this very loving man. A wonderful tribute. We should all spend more time taking a "nice long walk" with our precious children and grandchildren. He was not to drink coffee anymore but in the end, he chose to go naturally and I treasured watching him sip on his last cup of coffee. He passed away a few days later.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-479371371212305020.post-9669852494090170582011-05-31T14:49:24.201-04:002011-05-31T14:49:24.201-04:00This is such a beautiful tribute. I want him to remember them and not just hear stories we tell him.Elainenoreply@blogger.com
